About Us

Mansfield Road Baptist Church is made of a body of corporate believers. Each one does his or her part by being an active participant in Sunday school and all the Worship services, and the needs of the church. There are no committees in which division can be rooted in allowing any one group and or individual to move the body into none public objectives.

Major business decisions (construction, renovation, etc.) of the church are handled through the “Pastor Leadership Team” or “PLT”. This team consists of everyone who is a member and committed worker in the Lord’s house from custodian to teacher. As a Pastor I feel if they are willing to put in their time helping to grow the church for the Kingdom of the Lord, they are entitled to assist in handling the major business of the church foremost. These individuals you will find to be committed, dedicated, and giving of time, talent, tithes, and offerings. However, their decisions are not final. Once a major business transaction has been decided within the PLT, the process moves forward to the church body, but you must know there are no scheduled “church family meetings” at Mansfield Road. Decisions from the PLT can be brought before the church before or after any regular scheduled Sunday or Wednesday evening worship service. Therefore those who are Sunday Morning worshippers only, will have to be present as often as possible during the evening and morning services if they wish to have a voice in the final decision brought forward by the PLT. No major business goes before the church without coming through the church office, to the Pastor, to the Trustees, to the PLT, to the church family for approval.

Church financial records are not only handled by church office but are also assisted by an outside paid bookkeeper who helps keep us in balance. All debits are distributed daily by auto drafts or check distribution from our local financial institution on a daily basis. If you have questions concerning the finances you will address the church office, it will be brought to the Pastor’s attention, and it will be resolved through the church Trustees who have legal state representation and accountability for the churches finances. (Trustee; somebody who is has the legal authority to manage money or property on behalf of somebody else) As a tithing member you have access to files, records of transactions, and banking statements upon approval of trustees at any given time.

“Under Shepherds” are assigned to those who become members of the Mansfield Road Family. They assist the new families and members with any needs they have. Biblically “Deacons” were servants, under shepherds to the Pastor, but over a process of many years they became more of a “church administrators” rather than servants.

“Under Shepherds” work in harmony with the Pastor to inform him of needs that arrive within the church family, and assist him in meeting those needs. The Pastor, based on their commitment to the church chooses them, and their walk of life illustrates a manner worthy of calling. They discuss no business of the church but meet regularly to discuss the needs of the church families.

As the pastor of Mansfield Road it is my desire to incubate and birth a trust factor into the finances and stewardship of the Lords blessings. Every effort is made by the church trustees and pastor to reduce unnecessary meetings that distract our focus from the Lord and worship. We are a discipleship training facility, growing people spiritually mature in ways of the Lord. Our focus is praise, worship, and the study of God’s word.

I am sure you will find the corporate procedures of Mansfield Road quite different from the average Southern Baptist Church polity. However, I believe you will also find it to be pleasing and rewarding for you and your family.

Our focus is to build a body of believers who trust and respect each other and the work that the Lord is doing with and through His people. The Lord Jesus Christ had only one focus, and that was YOU when He gave Himself for our sins, so that we may “Live The Life”.
